The Giants have re-signed wide receiver Kevin Olgetree.  You might be asking why?

Because of the way Giants General Manager Jerry Reese executes his strategy… you can bet he is looking for some cheap capable players to plug-in and save some money.  He is going to attempt to sign at least 8 of their 19 free agents.

Olgetree fits the mold of cheap depth and plug and play.   He also has special teams value having returned kicks for the Dallas Cowboys(2009-2001).  However, his experience returning kicks is limited to 21 kick returns for 414 yards and an average of 19.7 yards per kick.

That might lead you to believe that the writing is on the wall for Giants kick return man Preston Parker.  Which would be a shame because I think he did a very nice job in 2014.

As a receiver his best year of his career was in 2012 while playing for the Cowboys Olgetree had 32 receptions for 436 yards and 4 touchdowns.  The 6″1′ 195 lbs. receiver is a New York native from Queens and went to Virginia.

He will join a staff of receiver that includes: Victor Cruz, Odell Beckham Jr. Rueben Randle, Corey Washington, Julian Talley, Preston Parker and Marcus Harris.
