The Giants O line Stuck in Neutral
At this point, the New York Giants Offensive line is no better than it was when the Packers sent them home in early January. You can hope a healthy Justin Pugh and Weston Richburg can be effective, but the rest of the Offensive Line is just, well…average and average doesn’t win.
Marshall Newhouse who was a turnstile at Right Tackle signed with the Raiders late last week. One can only hope that he is not in the starting lineup protecting David Carr. DJ Fluker was signed yesterday after being cut by the Chargers. He can play Right Tackle and Right Guard.

Taken 11th overall in 2013, Fluker was drafted to give the Chargers a plug-and-play starter at tackle. Instead, the 25-year-old has spent much of the past two seasons at guard, finishing 2016 as the league’s 54th-ranked player at his position, per Pro Football Focus. As the metrics site noted, Fluker allowed 2.5 pressures per game at right guard and 3.2 per tilt at right tackle while failing to stand out as a run blocker.

Eli Manning has 3 major targets in Marshall, Shepard and Odell. However, if he is on his back or scrambling for his life, he can’t throw down field. The Giants also signed Rhett Ellison, an H back from the Vikings. His blocking skills are legendary according to Devon Kennard but with the amount of money they paid him, it is easy to see he will be essentially playing Left Tackle and ensuring Flowers success.
In House and Under Contract: Pugh, Richburg, Hart and Flowers. Hopefully within the 1st or 2nd round it is addressed.
