When Rashad Jennings was lost due to the injury in the 2nd half of the New York Giants 30-20 win over the Atlanta Falcons, rookie Andre Williams was force into a bigger role. He played a big role in an onslaught of 2nd half Giants points.

Jennings has been a super solid, reliable addition to this Giants team. His leadership will be missed. However, when Williams entered the game, he ran like he was shot out of a cannon. He showed some aggression while seeking out hits. He reminds me of a combination of Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw. Fitting that he wears Bradshaw’s old #44.

A 4th round pick in the 2014 Draft, Williams, along with Weston Richburg and Odell Beckham Jr. on offense will play huge roles in key division showdowns over the next two weeks vs the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys.

Jennings will miss the next several weeks and most likely, will be held out until after the bye week to rehab a sprained MCL. Peyton Hillis figures to backup Williams. The Giants also announced they activated CB Jayron Hosley (suspension), promoted RB Michael Cox from the Practice Squad and waived CB Chandler Fenner and WR Julian Talley.

Next up: The Giants travel to Philadelphia on Sunday Night Football in a huge division game. We will find out over the next two weeks who may control there own faith in the NFC East.
