Giants not interested in linebacker Laurinaitis

A source close to the Giants has told us (NY Giants Rush) that the New York Giants were NOT one of the “many” teams that contacted the agent of middle linebacker James Laurinaitis.

This breaking news is very disappointing and will most likely open up the wound left behind when Jerry Reese retained his job.   Legions of Giants will be asking why and regardless if James Laurinaitis is a good fit for this team, Giants fans had severely hoped the Mara’s would force Jerry Reese to do things different in 2016 and show some effort in “reloading” this team.

The current Giants defense unperformed on every level and the under belly of these players was soft.  James Laurinaitis would instantly bring a toughness to this defense.   The player has never missed a game in his career and has never had under 109 tackles in a season.  In the last 3 years he has had 8 sacks and 3 interceptions.   Laurinistis has outperformed every linebacker on the Giants squad for 7 seasons.

Giants fans could only hope that Steve Spagnuolo steps in and speaks to Jerry Reese about the player he drafted in 2009 when he coached the Rams.
