The trio of Victor Cruz, Hakeem Nicks, and Rueben Randle, was supposed to give defensive coordinators nightmares, but six weeks in, fantasy teams are seeking out defensive match-ups against the Giants weaponry.

New York has been stripped down and exposed for the talentless team they’ve become thanks to years of poor drafting and lack of action in free agency.

The Giants have always been so effective offensively over the past few seasons, it covered up for a defense that lacked skilled linebackers and athletic cornerbacks. Did Jerry Reese really believe the combination of Spencer Paysinger and Mark Herzlich was going to impose their will against the opposition?

Or how about Corey Webster, who was statistically one of the worst corners in all of football?

Was he and the reacquired Aaron Ross going to shut down Dez Bryant, Brandon Marshall, and DeSean Jackson?

But that’s not even the issue here; this is Monday Morning Manning, and the word interception has become a term all too familiar with Giants fans this season.

Manning threw another interception Thursday…. Well three to be exact, running his league leading total to 15 for the season. That’s six more than any other quarterback in the league.

Think about this, Eli is the first quarterback to throw 15 interceptions through the first 6 games of a season since Dan Fouts did it in 1986, according to ESPN.com.  There used to be a time when you could blame a poorly sewn together offensive line, or a running game hat could be classified as a bad joke, but not after Thursday’s loss to the Bears.

For the first time all season the Giants eclipsed the 100-yard rushing mark this season, and gave Eli some time to throw, but in vain it was.  As Manning tossed another three picks, he once again seemed to be missing receivers all around the field, and couldn’t lead a classic Eli comeback late in the fourth quarter.

The Giants will now host Minnesota, who ranks 29th in the league against the pass, though it doesn’t matter much when Eli tosses more passes to the other team than touchdowns a game.
