NY Giants Receiving Core is Elite: Brandon Marshall

Brandon Marshall has done a lot to turn around his life off the field.  On the field, he is a benchmark for production, consistency and play making ability.  Eight 1000 yards seasons, 4 seasons with 10 + touchdowns and six seasons of 100 + receptions.

The question on everyone’s mind is…can No. 15 crank out those numbers with one of the game’s most explosive wide receivers lined up next to him.

In a recent interview, Marshall said that he understands he can be a No. 1 receiver somewhere in the NFL, but it’s not necessary at this point.   He was very clear that the ownership, the quarterback and the defense helped make his decision.  He even goes as far to say, “Sorry Mr. Reese” as he had his phone off the day the Giants General Manager was calling.

So what are the expectations from Marshall who has done nothing but produce his entire career.  Marshall has already stated that his 2016 performance was terrible.  Yes, he was hurt, and had no quarterback to speak of, but from a player with high expectations his 59 receptions for 788 yards was a “terrible year”.

Without making some ridiculous prediction, we are comfortable saying Eli has some game changing help outside and in the red zone he has not had in a long time, maybe ever.  The days of having to rely on Roger Lewis and Tavarres King are over.

His 6’4″ body is the tallest since Plaxico Burress.  Mario Manningham Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz, Rueben Randle, Odell Beckham all 6’2″ and under.  Beckham being the shortest of the starters at 5’11”.
