It’s a Different Reggie White!

By Michael J Basile, AKA @MdoubleJB

The GMen signed Reggie White JR, the 6’3” 210 lbs wideout from Monmouth University.  The undrafted free agent has impressive athleticism that just might translate to the next level; however, at this point, it’s just potential.

Sources say he needs improvement in his route running and has to show that he can compete on an every-down basis. He didn’t face stellar competition in college, but neither did former Monmouth University receivers Miles Austin and Chris Hogan. They both turned out to be productive pro players.

Hogan is a two time Super Bowl Champion with the New England Patriots. In 2019, there was talk that Hogan and the Giants might be in some discussion to bring the receiver back home. He later signed with the Panthers.

Reggie White had a productive college career. As a senior, he had 71 catches for 1133 yards and 11 TDs and that season culminated 3 consecutive 850+ yard seasons for him.   His father played in the NFL (Not THEE Reggie White ) so he has the genes and pedigree working for him.

The WR position is going to be key as we head into training camp. With Shepard and Tate slotted as the No1 & No2 receiver, White could be a welcome addition bringing height into the receiver room. Outside
Alonzo Russell who played at Toledo a few years ago, White will be the tallest receiver on the roster at 6’3″.

If White makes the team, he could become a red-zone target for Eli Manning and the Giants Offense. He has a big name attached to his jersey even though there is no relation to the HOF defensive end.

It doesn’t get any easier from thier as he slips on…No. 13 over his shoulder pads.
