In a move to gain roster space the New York Giants have waived linebacker Dan Connor.   Connor won the starting inside linebacker job out of training camp beating out Mark Herzlich.

Connor has been on the shelf since the first game of the season when he hurt his neck(stinger) vs his old team the Dallas Cowboys in the season opener.   According to the Star Ledgar, Connor was feeling healthy enough to play and asked for his release so he could catch on with another team.

Big Blue had high hopes for Connor who is only 28 years old; however, he came relatively cheap and has only been a part time starter playing for the Panthers and the Cowboys.

He had been on season ending injured reserve.

The Giants also announced the signing of cornerback Brandon Jones to their practice squad.
