The Giants are now 4 & 3 after a big win Sunday evening against the Dallas Cowboys.

It’s week 8 in the NFL.  Enclosed is your weekly Rant & Rave. Bam!

Rant: I love Steve Spagnuolo.  I think this coach is doing alot with very little talent.  So how does this team “find” a pass rush if he is doing everything he possible can.   The production of this unit is alarming.  Without a pass rush, how does the 31st ranked pass defense defend against Drew Brees, Tom Brady, and Cam Newton.

Yes, JPP has been resigned to a 1 year deal.   It remains to be seen if he can play at an NFL level.  Sources say he will not play against New Orleans.  He still has not been cleared to practice but looked good today on the sideline working out.

Rave: DRC!  Sunday night Giants fans got a taste what Dominque Rodgers-Cromartie can do when healthy.   DRC has 4 interceptions in two seasons (16 games played), Prince Amukamara has 7 in 5 seasons (49 games played).  That is not a knock on Prince, but a huge spotlight on DRC.   He is worth every dollar the Giants gave him.  A pass rush would help.

Rant: While Jon Beason and Devon Kennard had 18 tackles between them Sunday night, these two Giants backers got pushed all over the field.  The Giants defense was gashed for 233 yards, 152 to Darren McFadden. Yes, the Cowboys have the best offensive line in football; however with a one-dimensional quarterback, these two linebackers should have had an edge stopping the run.

Rave: Brandon Meriweather has played above everyone’s expectations.  So far the safety has 41 tackles and 2 interceptions.  Both pics coming in back-to-back weeks against Philadelphia and Dallas.  While he has had a rough reputation for a dirty player over his career, he has been a model of consistency for the Giants and a savior in his own right.

Rant: What gives with Rueben Randle?   How can he go from making a one-handed stab along the sidelines to dropping a ball that hit him right in the hands across the middle.  It tells me that he’s afraid to get hit.  This team misses Victor Cruz something fierce.

As usual, Eli Manning did not have enough time Sunday Night, but he did make some nice throws when he had a passing lane.  There is no excuse for dropping that ball over the middle and if the Giants did not desperately need Randle to be on the field, he should find a seat on the bench next to Demontre Moore.

Rave:  Orleans Darkwa & Shane Vereen made a huge difference Sunday Night.  It’s clear that Darkwa has a burst that Jennings does not have.  Darkwa at one point was averaging 10 yards per carry.

It is hard to tell what McAdoo is doing with this rotation of players.  Jennings does not have the speed to bounce the play outside and he can not out run or a linebacker.  Darkwa and Vereen earned a chance to play.
