Two in a row.  The NY Football Giants have won their 2nd game in a row and against another division rival. Daniel Jones took care of the football and the result are an outstanding “W”.

The Digits:

 – 21 completions out of 28 passes, 244 yards, a 100.9 QB rating
 – No passing TDs, 1 rushing TD
 – 9 carries for 64 yards, 7.1 average
 – ZERO TURNOVERS

Danny’s Dimes:

The Giants took their typical 2 score lead; The question: Would they blow it like they have been so accustomed to doing? The most impressive moments of the game were the “dimes” that DJ threw on back to back plays in the 3rd quarter.

First, he hit Sterling Shepard for 27 yards down the left sideline.  Then he hit the always covered, Golden Tate for 38 yards on the right sideline.  This was right after the Eagles had just cut the lead to 14-11 after scoring a TD and converting the 2 point conversion.

When the Eagles scored, everyone was thinking “same old Giants”, but NOT THIS TIME. That’s why this drive was so important, as Jones kept the offense on track and up two scores. This was major progress for Joe Judges’ young team.

The 40 yard “drop in” to Slayton in the 4th was another great connection, credit to Slayton for making the adjustment against a very good corner.
Let’s not forget the 34-yard touchdown run early on. DJ is a big reason the running backs have lanes, keeping the defense honest. They must respect his athletic ability which opens up opportunities for Gallman and Morris.

The DJ-Shep connection continues to be perfect, 6 targets, and 6 completions. I already mentioned the big play down the left sideline in the 3rd quarter, but all game long when he needed a play, he put it between the 8 and the 7 on Shep’s jersey. Clutch.

Danny’s Crimes:

The only thing I’m going to say, and it’s definitely nitpicking since he played beautifully, is that his toughness “may” work against him in the future. We don’t need Jones getting injured…as he never slides. He lowers his shoulder which you love to see, just not every time he’s head-on with a linebacker.

Up next:

A bye week and the Gmen look to keep it rolling against rookie first-round pick Joe Burrow and the Bengals in Cincy.  Can DJ make it 3 straight games without a turnover?
