The Giants might have reached a low, as they fall to 2-8.  They’ve lost 6 straight games and this one was to the abysmal Jets.  Daniel Jones happened to be one of the only bright spots and the one positive take away from this season with what he’s shown thus far.  He’s answered the questions about his ability to play in this league and has shown that he can make all the throws.

The Digits:

26 passes completed on 40 attempts for 308 yards and 4 TD passes;  He had a 121.7 rating and lit up the Jets defense without any help from the ground game.  Saquon Barkley was bottled up, carrying 13 times for a yard. The entire team had 23 rushing yards and Jones himself accounted for 20 of them

Areas to improve:

Jones fumbled again. (I’m like a broken record every week discussing DJ’s ball security) and this one was a phenomenal play by safety Jamal Adams.  Adams simultaneously hit Jones while taking the ball away from him, spun away and ran into the endzone.

The lack of productivity on their opening drives the last few games is concerning; In addition, Jones did nothing in the 4th Quarter. The offense didn’t score and every drive ended with a punt.

Danny Dimes territory:

Jones to Darius Slayton; We may be saying that for years to come. This connection yielded 14 attempted |10 completions | 121 yards and 2 TDs; They really are building a comfort level and chemistry with one another

Golden Tate had 2 touchdowns as well and the last one was on third down. Jones put it between Tates numbers perfectly. The accuracy of Jones allows Tate to do what he does best, which is to accumulate yards after the catch.

The fact that Jones through the ball with such confidence and accuracy today despite having zero help from the running game was impressive.  If it wasn’t for him, this franchise would have no hope at all.  At the very least, he makes them competitive and gives a reason for the fans to dream about the future.
