Pay Eli Manning: Giants fans will not wait another 15 years for a winner

NFL History will tell you that if you have a franchise quarterback, one who wins Super Bowls…you pay them and keep moving. Pay Eli Manning: None wants to wait another 15 years for a winner

When your favorite NFL team has a good quarterback you go into every game knowing you have a chance to win.   Without that vital piece you’re just hoping that someone on your squad goes off and has a career day.

The New York Giants have had two franchise Quarterbacks since 1979.   Those two players would be Phil Simms (78.5 QB rating) and Eli Manning (86.5 QB rating).   In between those two Super Bowl winning quarterbacks has been:  Scott Brunner, Jeff Hostetler, Kent Graham, Dave Brown, Danny Kannel, Kent Graham (2nd tour), Kerry Collins and Kurt Warner.

It is almost near impossible to find a franchise QB and one that wins.   Don’t believe me…look at the great QB’s of the NFL and the average QB’s of the NFL and you realize many Quarterbacks just don’t win.

  • Good NFL QB’s that don’t win:  Tony Romo, Cam Newton, Andy Dalton, Matt Ryan, Phillip Rivers, Nick Foles, Matt Stafford.
  • Great NFL QB’s:  Ben Roethlisberger, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Joe Flacco, Drew Brees and Russell Wilson.
  • Good NFL QB’s that will win:  Andrew Luck
  • Quarterbacks too young to know: Derek Carr and Blake Bortles

The rest of the NFL quarterbacks are average and stand little chance of turning around a franchise and winning: Dalton, Manziel, Palmer, Bradford, Sanchez, Manuel, Smith, Griffin, Kaepernick, Bridgewater, and Kutler.

Pay Eli Manning and lets move forward.   Every time the Giants ownership said, “This other guy we got is a can’t miss.   He’s the next Phil Simms”.  Well, it took 15 years for that statement to come true.

I don’t want to wait another 15 years to be a contender
