Prince Amukamara is out for Monday Night Football

Prince Amukamara is sidelined for Mondays game against the Eagles.  Yes, the injuries to starting players is mounting and this injury will  have No. 20 down for 2 to 4 weeks.

In last weeks game vs. the 49er’s Amukamara injured his pectoral muscle but stayed in the game.  After a full exam it was determined that he has a partially torn pectoral muscle. This injury is not on the same side as the torn bicep he suffered last season; however, just as disappointing.

Over the next two weeks the Giants will face two NFC East rivals in the Eagles and the Cowboys.  These games are very critical for the Giants and after listening to Prince speak, the frustration and disappointment in his voice was very evident.  Prince commented that he does have some movement in the arm and chest muscle, yet, the real test will be in 2 to 3 weeks.

If the arm and chest are still stiff and the range of motion has not returned in 2 to 3 weeks Prince could be shut down for some extended time.  Amukamara was having a great year. He is second on the team in tackles, his seven passes defenses are three more than any teammate has.  He has snatched an interception, forced a fumble and had a great turn.

Jayron Hosley will take over for Prince at the corner.   Trumaine McBride stays at slot corner…this should be interesting.
